Paulovich roars down slopes to first place finish

West Milford's Jon Paulovich won the first slalom competition of the New Jersey Interscholastic Ski Racing Association's 2004 season on Monday at Mountain Creek South in Vernon, Paulovich was in second place following his first run of 33.66 seconds before he roared down the slopes to post the fastest clocking of the second run at 34.65 seconds, giving him the first place combined time of 1:08.31. In the girls' division, the Highlanders Jenna Kochajki was in first place after one run with a clocking of 38.63 seconds. She experienced some difficulties on the second run, posting a time of 50.92 seconds that gave her the fifth fastest combined clocking of 1:29.55. Kochakji races down slopes to bronze medal

West Milford’s Jenna Kochakji raced down the slopes at Mountain Creek in Vernon on Friday evening to post the third fastest combined time in 2004 NJISRA Invitational. West Milford finished fourth out of 13 schools in the girls’ division and the Highlanders placed seventh among the 13 teams in the boys’ competition. Kochajki was in fifth place after the first run when she was clocked in 39.26 seconds.
